Lyon to LePuy en Velay for a day trip? I am staying near the Perroche station in Lyon.

A TER train leaves form Gare Perrache at 07h06 that with a couple of tranfers and an autobus ride will get you to Puy in 3hours 32 minutes.

On the way back you need to set out at 18h23 from Le Puy and arrive back in Lyon at 22h08.

Seems like a lot of traveling for a day trip.
